How to cope with seasonal allergies

spring-flowersSome people absolutely dread that time of year when allergies are more prone to attack. For those who have combination allergies it can be even more uncomfortable. Fortunately some people only suffer from allergies during season changes, but what about those who suffer all year long? Is there an answer to seasonal allergies for those who suffer the most?

Nasal allergies

For the few who only suffer nasal allergies, avoiding many of the things that cause the sinuses to block up or being stuffy is enough. For others there is consistent problems throughout the season that are only controlled by using saline nasal sprays or others allergy products. Amazingly many people do not realize that even simple allergies can have their basis in other conditions such as Candida yeast infection and even an unhealthy colon.

Combination allergies

Most people who suffer from allergies have combination allergies, which means they have both nasal and chest congestion that are allergy related. Treating these types of allergies with one allergy product is impossible. If your allergies are severe enough to require medication, you will need both a nasal decongestant and an oral medication. It is certainly preferable to simply avoid the things that trigger an allergy attack but with so many different things today causing reactions, it is often not practical to do that. For those who have allergies to flowers, perfumes, and even certain soaps and fabrics, the avoidance of these products can be an endless stream of getting rid of each product in order to find the offensive product.

Sinus problems

In addition to an array of allergies, many people also suffer from sinusitis. If you’re unfortunate like I am, there is no end. In the fall and spring you have allergies and in the summer and winter you suffer from sinus problems. It’s a never ending cycle of coughing, sneezing, watery red eyes, and sinus drainage. Choosing to live with the condition without medication or finding a product that actually works can also be an endless journey of trial and error.

Natural treatment for allergies

One of the most natural treatments for allergies is avoidance of the offending product, but we’ve already discussed the impracticality of that. As with any condition, maintaining a healthy immune system is the most natural way to treat any illness or condition and that includes allergies. It’s also important to make sure your body is in good working condition and does not contain any toxic substances that may be causing your allergic reactions. The colon is the most common area to find toxic substances, so it’s essential to make certain your colon is free of left over waste material and that you regularly evacuate all of the waste material your colon has collected.

Testing for other causes of allergies

Before you embark on a medical treatment for your allergies, you want to make sure your doctor has eliminated other possible causes for your allergies such as Candida yeast infection or a build up of waste or toxic substances in the colon or a compromised immune system. Eliminating the underlying causes may prevent the need for medical intervention for your allergies by treating the contributory factors rather than the allergies directly. Once those are eliminated, you may look for some more natural remedies such as various herbs that are proven to eliminate symptoms of allergies. For example, garlic is a natural antibiotic, so you may find it useful for treatment of allergies as well. Online sources are full of properties related to every available herb including how to use each one for specific conditions including allergies.
